Basic and Translational Section Structure and Application

Neuro/psychopharmacology Committee:

The IUPHAR Basic and Translational Section is seeking enthusiastic researchers with a focus on neuro and/or psychopharmacology to join the established Neuro/Psychopharmacology Committee.  The purpose of this committee is to identify opportunities for the advancement of the specialty by providing:

  • updates on best practice to the international community via the publication of state-of-the-art articles in the subject area
  • by convening and contributing to international virtual and in-person meetings/conferences raising the profile of pharmacology in the field
  • by establishing networks to enable collaborative efforts
  • by raising funds that seek to support international researchers further the respective field

Committee Chair: We are seeking a new Committee Chair. The purpose of the Chair role is to lead the Neuro/psychopharmacology committee to deliver on the priorities listed above.  The Chair will be a member of the IUPHAR Basic and Translational Section and will report to the Section at regular meetings regarding the activities of the Committee

Vice-Chair: We are seeking a new Committee Vice-Chair. The purpose of the Vice-Chair role is to support the Chair of the Section to achieve the aims of the Section. The Vice-Chair shall fulfil the tasks of the Chair whenever the latter is not available. The Vice Chair may also assist the Chair by undertaking activities in between meetings on complex or difficult matters. The Vice-Chair will also provide strategic input to assist the Chair as required.

Committee Members (Councillors): We are looking to elect at least four additional members who will attend quarterly meetings and support the activities of each Committee.

 

Cancer Pharmacology Committee:

The IUPHAR Basic and Translational Section is expanding the specialty committees of the Section to increase and encourage engagement more broadly across the discipline of pharmacology. We are seeking enthusiastic researchers with a focus on cancer pharmacology.  The purpose of each committee is to identify opportunities for the advancement of the specialty by providing:

  • updates on best practice to the international community via the publication of state-of-the-art articles in the subject area
  • by convening and contributing to international virtual and in-person meetings/conferences raising the profile of pharmacology in the field
  • by establishing networks to enable collaborative efforts
  • by raising funds that seek to support international researchers further the respective field

Vice-Chair: The purpose of the Vice-Chair role is to support the Chair of the Section to achieve the aims of the Section. Transparency and Reproducibility Committee:

The IUPHAR Basic and Translational Section is expanding the specialty committees of the Section to increase and encourage engagement more broadly across the discipline of pharmacology.  We are seeking enthusiastic researchers with a keen interest in advancing best practice in transparency and reproducibility of pharmacology research.  The purpose of each committee is to identify opportunities for the advancement of the specialty by providing:

  • updates on best practice to the international community via the publication of state-of-the-art articles in the subject area
  • by convening and contributing to international virtual and in-person meetings/conferences raising the profile of pharmacology in the field
  • by establishing networks to enable collaborative efforts
  • by raising funds that seek to support international researchers further the respective field
