BPS Pharmacology 2025

The British Pharmacological Societ will bring its next annual conference – Pharmacology 2025 – to the ICC Belfast from 16 – 18 December 2025!

Submit a symposium proposal

The BPS Meetings Committee is seeking symposium proposals for the conference. We welcome proposals on all pharmacocology-related topics, but this year we would particularly welcome proposals that align with the BPS thematic priorities:

• Artificial intelligence
• New treatment modalities
• Pharmacogenomics
• Sustainable medicines
• Therapeutic inequality

Why Belfast?

Known for its friendly and welcoming people, Belfast is a city that will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The Northern Irish capital prides itself on its hospitality, offering delegates a chance to relax and enjoy the atmosphere both inside and outside of the conference. The city’s restaurants, cafes, and pubs offer excellent local food and drinks, providing a chance to unwind and network in a relaxed setting.

For those looking to explore beyond the conference venue, Belfast offers plenty of scenic attractions. The city is surrounded by breath taking landscapes, including the famous Giant’s Causeway, the Mourne Mountains, and the Antrim Coast. Whether you’re interested in hiking, cycling, or simply enjoying a picturesque setting, there’s no shortage of ways to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Northern Ireland.

The city if also a hub for life sciences and pharmacology. In the north of the city, Ulster University’s Faculty of Life and Health Sciences provides health-related education to almost 6,500 students with approximately 250 academic staff, including its School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In the south of the city, Queen’s University Belfast’s School of Pharmacy provides students an authentic a learning experience and environment, including world-leading research laboratories. There are also lots of pharmaceutical-related companies based in Belfast.

What to expect

The British Pharmacological Society’s annual Pharmacology conference is an opportunity for academics (students, educators and researchers), clinicians, industry workers and policy regulators to all come together in-person for a celebration of pharmacology. Expect three days filled with the latest research updates, developments, news, resources and the ability to network with others across the field. There will be keynote sessions, symposia, workshops, debates, workshops and bootcamp sessions. You’ll hear from a diverse range of speakers from emerging investigators all the way through to leading experts – each sharing their expertise and insights.

The conference also offers plenty of opportunities to grow your network and socialise, such as the refreshment and lunch breaks, Q&A sessions, workshops and during the ever-popular social programme (events to be confirmed soon).
